living for CHRIST, following CHRIST, and shining and showing faith and the LIGHT that is in CHRIST in every moment!!

You know when you can see that someone is happy? When they are truly, genuinely happy. When they are smiling and joyful and cheerful all of the time? It’s an awesome thing to see. Our lives with CHRIST, walking with HIM, with HIM leading, with us following HIM, should look that way. The happiness that we have in HIM should be evident to all, at all times, and not just at different moments.

You can tell when others are followers of CHRIST. It will show in everything that they do and everything that they say. It will show in how they react to things, and it will show in how they handle things, every moment.

Our outward appearance should be a representation of our inward self. (Proverbs 15:13). What we do is one way that others can tell that we are followers of JESUS CHRIST. We are to not only love, but show love. In doing this, we hope that others will want to know and grow close to LOVE (John 13:34-35) . And, sometimes it may seem hard to love someone, maybe they have done something to you in the past, or maybe they said something about you that you might have rather not heard about. A few days ago, people gathered at a few different venues to attend something called Passion, where every year, people get together and hear speakers and singers and praise and worship THE LORD together, and while reading some of the posts about it, one of the quotes that some people mentioned caught my attention. :

“You have to make what Jesus did for you, bigger than what anyone did to you.”

– Christine Caine

JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR US. ON A CROSS. JESUS CHRIST, THE LORD GOD OF ALL, DIED FOR US ON A CROSS, BECAUSE HE LOVES US. HE LOVES US. LOVE LOVES US!!!! HE is amazing!! That is amazing, that HE did that. We are worth so much. We are worth so much more than what others may think about us. We are worth more than what others may say about us, or what others may do to us, or what others may say to us ( 1 Samuel 16:7 ). GOD sent HIS SON to save us, all of us. So, we should love everyone, at all times. Show forgiveness and grace, because we have the perfect example of those things(Romans 5:8) (Romans 3:21-31) .

Our speech should also show that we follow THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. (Psalm 19:14). Every word that comes out of our mouth should be in and of love, gentle and peaceful (Proverbs 16:24) . They should be words of truth and righteousness, not speech of the world, that thrashes and tears people apart. The peace and truth in the words we speak should make all who hear us, want to hear more. It shouldn’t push others away, but draw them closer, so that, hopefully, they could know about THE ONE WHO has given us the peace that shows in our words. Our words should be pleasant, not sounding like a chalkboard being scratched. Our words should be firm, and confident, yet sweet, not with a screeching sound that drives away, but like a sweet melody that plays over and over, and yet, doesn’t get old.

Reactions and the way different moments are handled can vary from person to person. A CHRIST follower’s reactions and how they handle moments will show a few things. Patience, gentleness, kindness, some things that are fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26). Moments that I am talking about, apply to both “on the spot” moments, and moments that we have a long time to give a final reaction to, where we get to have some time to pray, to think about things, and then show a handling of a moment. I’ll give some examples …

  • “on the spot” moments :

– Say you were babysitting your younger siblings. You’re in living room with your younger brother, hanging out and playing with some legos, and all of a sudden, you hear a loud noise come from the kitchen, and remember that your other younger brother was in there. You quickly run into the room to see what has happened, and you see your brother standing still with a terrified look on his face. You look down to see that the jar which held flour was broken on the floor, and flour seemed to be just about everywhere.

you could react to this in a few ways.

  1. you could get angry and yell at him and tell him to clean it up
  2. you could calmly ask him what happened, and let him give the run down, help him clean it up, and after that, let him know that he shouldn’t touch things that he knows he shouldn’t, and that if he needs something, next time, let someone else know.

a lot of times, we may want to do the first, it seems easier, and we feel like some people deserve that reaction. But there is one specific thing missing from that first possible reaction: love. Yelling at someone isn’t going to help anything. Sometimes it helps to think about it this way: Both of us are people. Both of us. I’m a person. They’re a person. How would I want to be treated? (Matthew 7:12) (Luke 6:31) .

  • moments where you have more time

– This can apply to an in person moment also, but since talking on technology is so popular, this example should do well.

What if you got a text from someone you haven’t talked to in awhile, and they have sent you a message about why you make them mad, and in that text, they have called you all sorts of things. You have heard that this person has been talking about you, and now they have (in a way) said something to you. You’re still not sure why they feel the way that they do about you, and you know that the things that they are saying are false.

you could react to this moment in a few ways :

  1. you could get angry and send a strongly worded text back to them, and “let them have a taste of their medicine”
  2. you could read this text, and really think about them and why they would say these things. You could pray for them!! Since you have time, you could think of what to say, calmly, instead of getting all frustrated and letting words roll off of your tongue from the feeling of anger. You could possibly ask them why they think that they are feeling the way that they do about you, or why they think they are saying these things. You could even tell them, “hey, these things aren’t true”. And by thinking and doing in this way, from THE WAY, the moment will be handled better than the first option.

Again, the first option is probably the most common. Sometimes we let words like those things get to us so fast, and sometimes we let the thought of what others may think of us sort of invade our minds and cause us to want to react that first way. But, again, that option does not include one specific thing: love.

That reaction does not show love, or care, or peace. It shows a quick temper. It shows a reaction caused by words that can never compare to how JESUS CHRIST sees us. HE loves us, and no words or thoughts about us from other people can take that away!!!!!!!! (James 1:19-22) .

The second reactions to both of these situations are the reactions that we as CHRIST followers should have. When we have CHRIST in our hearts, it shows. The way we make decisions looks different than how others of the world would. How we react to all moments should be in love, from LOVE. How we handle situations should show LOVE AND GRACE, not hate and destruction. Peace, not war. Sweet, not bitter. Hope, not disaster.

CHRIST followers in every moment, with every action, with every word, with every thought, with every reaction, with every handling of every moment, should be a shining of THE LIGHT. Of THE LOVE. Of THE LIFE. Of THE WAY. Of THE TRUTH. Of GRACE. Of PEACE. But, we cannot do it alone. We cannot go through life alone, we need LIFE HIMSELF. We cannot have love without LOVE HIMSELF. We cannot have joy without JOY HIMSELF. We cannot have peace without PEACE HIMSELF. We cannot have grace without GRACE HIMSELF. We cannot know light or walk in light or have light or shine a light without LIGHT HIMSELF. We cannot know the way in which we should walk, or the truth to show and speak, or the way in which how we live, or life, without THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE HIMSELF. We have no strength apart from STRENGTH HIMSELF, THE ALMIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE LORD AND SAVIOR. THE LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much joy!! So much excitement!! HE is all powerful!!

(Nehemiah 8:10) (Psalm 22:19) (Psalm 28:6-9) (Psalm 46:1-3) (Psalm 118) (Psalm 119:28) (Isaiah 12:2) (Isaiah 33:2) (Isaiah 40:28-31) (Habakkuk 3:17-19) (Mark 12:30) (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) (Ephesians 3:14-21) (Ephesians 6:10-20)

I pray and hope that we can share and show love and light, because we as CHRIST followers have LOVE AND LIGHT HIMSELF. Only with GOD, with HIM, there is LIFE.

GOD loves us!! HE loves us!! THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, JESUS CHRIST loves us!! LOVE loves us!! Let’s keep sharing and showing and shining THE TRUTH!!

( John 3:16-17 ) (Romans 5:8) (Romans 8:26-39 )

“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

5 From my distress I called upon the Lord;

The Lord answered me and set me in a large place.

6 The Lord is for me; I will not fear;

What can man do to me?

7 The Lord is for me among those who help me;

Therefore I will look with satisfaction on those who hate me.

8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord

Than to trust in man.

9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord

Than to trust in princes.

10 All nations surrounded me;

In the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.

11 They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me;

In the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.

12 They surrounded me like bees;

They were extinguished as a fire of thorns;

In the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.

But the Lord helped me.

The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.

17 I will not die, but live,

And tell of the works of the Lord.

18 The Lord has disciplined me severely,

But He has not given me over to death.

I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to the Lord.

20 This is the gate of the Lord;

The righteous will enter through it.

21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have answered me,

And You have become my salvation.

Has become the chief corner stone.

O Lord, we beseech You, do send prosperity!

26 Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord;

We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.

27 The Lord is God, and He has given us light;

Bind the festival sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.

You are my God, I extol You.

29 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth

Does not become weary or tired.

His understanding is inscrutable.

29 He gives strength to the weary,

And to him who lacks might He increases power.

30 Though youths grow weary and tired,

And vigorous young men stumble badly,

31 Yet those who wait for the Lord

Will gain new strength;

They will mount up with wings like eagles,

They will run and not get tired,

They will walk and not become weary.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

And there be no fruit on the vines,

Though the yield of the olive should fail

John 13: 34-35

“34. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” ”

Romans 3:21-31

Justification by Faith

21 But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26 for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

27 Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one.

31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

Romans 5:8

8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8: 26-39

Our Victory in Christ

26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written,

“For Your sake we are being put to death all day long;

We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Galatians 5:16-26

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

Ephesians 3:14- 21

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 6:10-20

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, 19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Titus 1:16

“16. ” They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.” ”

James 1:19-22

19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. 22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Ephesians 5:1-6

Be Imitators of God

5 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

3 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Ephesians 6:10-20

The Armor of God

“10. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12. James 1:22- 27

“22. “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. 23. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24. for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

26.If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless. 27. God is Light, God is Love

What does someone think of when they think of “light”? Maybe bright, shining, sparkling, something that shows in darkness, the sun, the moon and stars at night, a lot of things. What objects could someone think of when they think of “light”? Maybe a lamp, a lantern, a candle, a lightbulb. Again, a lot of things. What does someone think of when they think of “love”? Maybe emotion, romance, caring. When people think of things that could go along with “love”, they might say things like, hearts, the color red, valentines day, roses, couples; a lot of things. But there is one thought that can rarely come across someone’s mind when they think of light and love. God. He is both of those things, and much more. God is the Light. God is the Love.

God is the Light

God is the Light. Without Him, there is no light at all. There is complete darkness without Him. What does someone usually do when power goes out in their house? They usually put out candles, so that they can see. So that they can walk around freely without worrying if they are about to walk into something or hit something. Otherwise, they would be using their own senses, trying on their own to lead the way, to guide themselves, and hope for the best. We all know that that way doesn’t work out so well. We work better with light, so that we are sure of things, and confident in our movements, and in the way in which we walk. That is a good way to look at our every day lives. Just like we need lights to guide us in darkness, we need The Light to guide us in life. We need God, who is The Light. He leads us and guides us and shows us where to go. We can’t depend on ourselves to get us where we are going, because our own senses aren’t enough. We need Someone leading us and guiding us, and being The Light for us, and that can only be God (John 1:9) (John 8:12). God is different than a lamp or a candle or a lantern, though. God is always Light. He never burns out. He is forever, and He is continuing forevermore. Darkness cannot overcome.  If we don’t have Him, we are going through our lives in complete darkness, for without God, there is no light at all. And if we have the True Light, we shouldn’t be afraid, because even though there may be moments in our lives that seem like they are dark, we can trust that He is here and that He is our Light (Psalm 27:1). He is The True Light (1 John 1:5-10). When we walk with The Light, we can help to shine His light. We can be an example for Christ in all that we do and say, through both actions and speech and so much more. Shine brightly for HIM! (Matthew 5: 14-16 )

God is the Love

God is the Love. God is all goodness. Without God, we cannot have love or goodness, at all. God is The True Love, so without Him, there can be none. HE is amazing, and that is amazing, that HE is love. We can’t even begin to try to fully comprehend that. It’s so amazing. HE is so amazing, and we can’t begin to try to think about it fully, and that is so cool. Another thing that we can’t begin to comprehend or even try to comprehend, is that HE loves us. GOD loves us. LOVE loves us. GOD, who is LOVE, loves us. HE is amazing. That is amazing. HE, THE LORD OF ALL, loves us every moment, unconditionally. WOW. He shows His love for us, too. God sent His One and Only Son, JESUS CHRIST, to live on this earth and die on a cross for our sins, and in three days, be raised from the dead, so that we might be saved by Him (John 3:16-17) (1 John 4:9-10). WOW! If we are walking with Christ, we can know True Love, and when we know True Love, we can love others (John 13:35)(1 John 4:8) (1 John 4:19). We can show love to others, and hope that as we do that, that they might hopefully come to know God. That they might hopefully come to know True Love. (1 John 4:16, 1 John 4:8, 1 John 4:19,  1 John 4:7, 1 John 4:10, Romans 5:8, Romans 8:36-39, John 13:34, 1 Corinthians 13)

God is The Light, and God is The Love. If we have God, we have The True Light with us. If we have the true Light with us, we can help to shine His light to others. If we have God, we have The True Love with us. If we have the true Love with us, then we can help to shine and show His love to others.

WE ARE LOVED!!!!

Bible verses used in this blog post :

God is The Light

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?

Matthew 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

John 1:9

There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

John 8:12

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

1 John 1:5-10

5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

God is The Love

John 3:16-17

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His [a]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

John 13:34

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

John 13:35

35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

1 John 4:7

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:8

8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:9-10

9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:16

16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

1 John 4:19

19 We love, because He first loved us.

1 John 4:10

10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Romans 5:8

8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:36-39

36 Just as it is written,

“For Your sake we are being put to death all day long;

1 Corinthians 13

The Excellence of Love

13 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
